Join us for a session full of Yoga, dance, healthy snacks, meditation, time for journaling, essential oils and conversation infused with fun beats and soft tunes from various places in Africa & beyond.
This workshop is a space for you to be seen, to cultivate inspiration, laugh, connect with other women in your community, to strengthen, to relax, to breathe and tune into your body, mind & spirit.
What to bring? Water, a Yoga mat or you can utilize at mat at the studio, comfortable/exercise clothing & an open mind and heart.
Can only women of colour attend?
Everyone is welcome with open arms! However the space is created for women of colour as diversity is not showing up in our yoga spaces.
What is the definition of women of colour? A women of non-white or European heritage.
We welcome all women of Asian/Pacific Islander, Arab/Middle-Eastern, Black/African American/Caribbean/West Indies, Native/Indigenous, and Hispanic/Latin descent and hope you will join us in rising above inequality, systemic marginalization and ignorance for the purpose of unity by way of equanimity.
Why is this workshop specific to Women of Colour?
Despite our best efforts, the holistic, movement & yoga communities are not showing very much diversity if any at all in some spaces. As a women of colour, a teacher and a mother, I understand the unique challenges that women of colour face in our community and around the world.
This workshop is an opportunity to ignite, encourage and inspire wellness, meditation, mindfulness and yoga in a safe space where you can open up about your experiences, build long lasting relationships with the understanding, language, perspective, sensitivity and opportunity to make a difference in our communities and beyond.
“Health is not a luxury. It’s a Birthright.”
Stay tuned for more workshops & ongoing Yoga for Women of Colour Workshops!
